On the evening of Saturday, May 2nd, our friend, colleague, mentor, and guardian angel, Jodi Black lost her brave battle with an aggressive interstitial lung disease.
Those lucky enough to have known Jodi will recall her love of life, her infectious energy, and her role as an enthusiastic ambassador for Savage Worlds and the tabletop roleplaying game industry in general.

Jodi was affectionately known as the “Crit Fail Queen.” A crit fail is when a player rolls a “1” on both the Trait die and Wild Die of a Trait roll in Savage Worlds. Where others see failure in such things, she always saw story. Jodi absolutely delighted in those unexpected twists of fate, and transmuted misfortune into something unforgettable.
