Pinnacle now offers Aces a formal process for value-adding requests we’ve seen time and again: using our text in your products, making VTT products, and selling our core products as Add-Ons in your crowdfunding campaigns so your customers can purchase everything they need to play.
We’re also developing a great way to showcase Ace listings on our upcoming new website with “title cards” which will be a lot more interesting graphically and let you show off your products and best cover art. As importantly, the banners will rotate randomly, so Aces won’t always sort alphabetically and people will get to see awesome new projects every time they check in. We’ll send more information and a template for that later. Let’s get back to the first bit:
1. Aces can offer the SWADE core rule book, Companions, and any other core material products (as approved) as Add-Ons in their crowdfunding campaigns.
Savage Worlds core rules physical products (SWADE + Companions and accessories) are available to Aces at the same price a retailer would pay (50% off the cover price). You pay an invoice for these items prior to fulfillment. Shipping costs are your responsibility.
We can’t allow sales of our PDFs for various reasons (including DriveThru exclusivity), but we’ll happily provide free PDFs to any of your backers who purchase physical copies through your project. You’ll provide a templated list and we’ll handle it from there.
2. Aces may create VTT content using the platform of their choice.
Where Pinnacle already has VTT core rules available, Aces must link to or require those modules similar to our print products. Where we don’t… well, we’ll discuss it!
Several Aces already have VTT content published. A royalty of 10% (similar to DriveThru) on FoundryVTT Marketplace will apply to new releases at some point. This helps us maintain the core rules for your content’s best functionality. Currently, the ability to collect a royalty does not exist at FVTT.
Since all VTT is managed by a third party (Fantasy Grounds, FoundryVTT, Roll20) for Pinnacle there may be delays in communication at times, but we want everyone able to play.
3. Aces may request to use non-IP text and rule excerpts from any Pinnacle product. Approval is on a case by case basis. Attribution on the credits page is a must.
“IP” (Intellectual Property) refers to content specific to Pinnacle’s original settings, like Deadlands® and Rippers, and those Pinnacle licenses from others, such as Pathfinder® for Savage Worlds and Rifts® for Savage Worlds. For example, an excerpt about the Servitors or the Harrowed rules would not be allowed but a request for the Gallows Humor Edge or Dueling Rules might be approved.
What we want to see: reusing Edges and Hindrances, gear, or creature stat blocks to standardize things across the community.
What we will not approve: products which are largely compilations of our works.
For Aces who make significant requests of text, we’ll negotiate something we can both feel good about. This may be an additional royalty fee, flat fee, or other idea depending on your specific project and needs.

Please do not send attachments. Include the following in your initial email:
♠️ “Elevator pitch” of the crowdfunding project or new product you’re developing.
♠️ Estimated timeline for completion/launch and fulfillment.
♠️ Add-On products requested by full title (For example, don’t list “SPC,” but instead “Super Powers Companion“).
♠️ For any text excerpt requests, list in alpha order by book title, section, and name (for example: 1. Fantasy Companion, New Edges, Chosen. 2. Science Fiction Companion, Vehicles, vehicle names).
♠️ Any additional information you think we need to know to help with our decision making.
We hope you’re as excited about this as we are! Jodi has worked with some of you now for over a decade and she knows the value you bring. Handling these requests will her main priority at Pinnacle while negotiating her health challenges, so please give her three to four days for a response before reaching out to anyone else in the company.
